One of my final projects at Instrument was leading a company rebrand involving a new logo and wordmark, custom typeface, website, and brand guidelines.
Role: Creative Director. This project involved many collaborators, including Jordan Egstad, Jack De Caluwé, Nishat Akhtar, Jules Cordova, Ravi Mongia, and Travis Barteau, to name a few.2023
Instrument Typeface
Typography plays a big role in communicating the brand concept in the Instrument brand system. Rather than relying on existing typefaces that felt close enough, we built a family of typefaces that could create harmony through shared anatomy or contrast through dramatic sizing and dynamic pairings.
We collaborated with independent Chilean type designer Rodrigo Fuenzalida and the Google Fonts team to design our custom suite of serif, sans, and monospaced typefaces.

LEVIS x VSCO
Some of us ride bikes for play. Others use them as a means of transportation. For some, it’s an intense form of exercise. And in most cases, riding a bike can lend itself to exploring new places, getting off the main road, and taking a closer look at our surroundings.
Levi's sent us out to find inspiring stories about people who use bikes to commute. We partnered with a global network of photographers to honor the cycling experience, producing content in collaboration with VSCO.

Nike
Sixteen years of working with Nike.
From shaping the design system that unified their sprawling digital ecosystem under a single visual language to envisioning the future of connected retail — alongside incredible teams, I’ve been fortunate to touch nearly every corner of the Nike universe.
Sonos delivers brilliant sound to the homes of listeners all over the world with elegantly designed, easy-to-use products. After years of collaboration on Sonos’ digital product experience, we helped them evolve their brand strategy and identity — complete with usage guidelines for typography, motion, product visualization, color, and illustration — and did a full website redesign.
2020 will be remembered as one of the most challenging years in modern history. But it also showed us what's possible when we put our minds together. During this time, a New York-based NGO called The Great Foundation came to us looking for an idea to ignite positive change in the world.
This directive sparked the inception of The Festival Of Urgent Reinventions (F.O.U.R), a virtual conference and incubator tailored to confront the world's most pressing systemic challenges. The event comprises talks and workshops led by influential change-makers and four actionable briefs crafted to address urgent global issues head-on.

The MET
Inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art there is too much to see and do in a single day. The Met asked us to create a simple, informative and elegant way to explore what’s happening — no matter where you are.
That meant organizing the Met’s vast stores of art and knowledge into something that fits in your hands. Playful gestures, considered design and a colorful interface make the app a perfect place for anyone (and everyone) to start.
